A native of the San Francisco Bay Area, Sharon has been writing children's musicals for over a decade, and has completed numerous scripts and song lyrics. As the Children's Worship Leader and Director of the Community Youth Worship program at Redwood Chapel in Castro Valley, CA., Sharon writes music, poetry and scripts for children's choir, VBS and children's church, drawing from her experiences teaching Sunday School, VBS and AWANA. She also has her own Graphic Design business, specializing in CD packaging and artwork. Sharon is married to her high school sweetheart and writing partner, Don.

Sharon grew up with a music-filled environment in a Christian home. Sharon's mother, Linda Rebuck, also a successful children's music writer, had a strong spiritual impact on her. Sharon's writing career began upon the untimely death of her mother in 2000. Sharon and her husband Don became writing partners and collaborated on the release of their debut musical, "Ultimate Superstar" with enthusiastic acclaim at Neighborhood Youth Theater, where 107 children performed it with only a week of rehearsal. Sharon has written lyrics for many artists and composers including Tom Fettke, a noteworthy music writer, arranger and producer in Nashville, TN. After receiving interest from several major publishers, Sharon and Don decided to follow the Lord's calling to start their own publishing company, KidsWorks. They continue to strive to create unique, fun and Bible-based musicals to glorify Jesus Christ. Sharon and Don reside in Hayward, CA, and have two amazing grown daughters, Kayla and Karissa.

Don has been a full-time musician in the San Francisco Bay Area for over 30 years.  He owns and operates DKS Productions, a music production company in Hayward, CA.  With well over 100 album projects to his credit, he is known as "Mr. Wizard" when it comes to music production, arranging, engineering, and computers and music.  “He’s a Mac”.  Don is also a highly skilled Pianist/Keyboardist and continually works as an accompanist for many local churches, choirs, college choirs, theater groups, orchestras and bands. He is currently the Pianist and Choir Accompanist for Redwood Chapel of Castro Valley, CA.

A Bay Area native, Don began formal piano training at the age of seven and studied privately all through High School.  After graduating with prestigious awards, Don continued to study Piano, Voice, Jazz and 20th Century Harmony at Chabot College, Hayward, and later graduated on the Dean’s List from The Grove School Of Music in LA.  Don then returned to the Bay Area to begin a full-time career in music. In addition to managing and operating DKS Productions as a Producer and Recording Engineer, musical theater is an integral part of Don’s life.  Throughout the year he works as an accompanist or music director for theaters in the SF bay area in shows such as “The Sound of Music”, “Pirates of Penzance”, “Evita”, “Godspell”, “A Little Night Music”, “The Wiz” and many more. Don can take any kind of lyric Sharon gives him and bring it to life with the perfect style of music. Don and Sharon strive to give the best of their talents to God's work, and have raised their two daughters in the light of His love.

About Us

Statement of Christian Faith

We believe in only one God, creator of everything, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit: three persons, one God. This is a great mystery of a God who is bigger than anything we can comprehend.
Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, born of the Virgin Mary, lived a sinless life, died and rose again, offering Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Someday, He will return to earth to reign as King of Kings.
The Holy Spirit is with us in the world to make all people aware of their need for Jesus Christ, giving believers strength for living, understanding of truth, and guiding us as we seek to live under His daily control.
The Bible is God’s Word, written by human authors, inspired by the Holy Spirit. It is the absolute source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. We are created in God’s image and according to the Bible, God loves all people, and invites them to live in eternal friendship with Himself and in peace with each other.
Although every person has potential for good, all of us are born with an attitude of disobedience toward God called “sin.” Salvation from sin is God’s free gift of grace to us, but we must accept it; it cannot be earned. We can be saved from sin’s penalty only by trusting in Jesus Christ. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ by faith.
All believers are members of the body of Christ, one universal church. The local church, a group of believers who gather for worship, prayer, & fellowship, give of their time & resources to reach lost people for Christ. The Bible teaches that without Christ we will be eternally separated from God, which is Hell, but through Jesus we can spend eternity in Heaven with God.

Linda Rebuck

Linda Rebuck, mother of Sharon Turney, was born in 1943 and grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, where she met and married her husband, Ron, and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area, There they raised their two children, Greg and Sharon, in a loving Christian home.
Prior to her death in November of 2000, Linda spent more than 25 years directing children's choirs and producing seasonal and nonseasonal productions in several churches, both large and small. She began her publishing career in 1982 with the release of the children's musical "Miracle After Miracle", a collaboration with Tom Fettke, and the first of eight works for kids. Her life and written work inspired her daughter to start writing children's musicals as well.
Most of her works were produced in the 1980's and are currently out of print.  Her final masterpiece, "Good Kings Come In Small Packages", was a best-seller.
Linda is greatly missed by many, but her legacy lives on in what she left behind.
