Frequently Asked Questions

• CAN I COPY THE CD'S?
Copying CDs is not permitted. It may be very tempting but please remember, KidsWorks and other similar publishing companies rely on the sale of listening CDs and bulk CDs to continue to operate. The only exception would be for backup purposes in which we do recommend importing your Accompaniment Tracks CD into your computer using a lossless encoding format. You will need to know how to set your importing preferences in your computing software such as iTunes. If you simply let iTunes import automatically, you will most likely end up with an MP3 which is not CD quality. Please feel free to call KidsWorks if you have more questions about importing.

Ordering Questions

• IF I ORDER A PDF FROM KIDSWORKS, HOW DO I DOWNLOAD IT?
After you complete the shopping cart procedure, you will automatically receive an invoice via email, which will include a link and download instructions. If you do not receive the invoice within an hour of your completed order, check to see if the email was diverted by a spam or junk filter. After you receive the link, you have one week to download the files. If you try to download them later, you will get an error message, as the link is expired. If you ordered PDF's and your link has expired, please contact us.

• CAN I PAY BY CHECK?
Online ordering is best for quick delivery, but yes, we provide an offline option at checkout.During checkout, choose the "Offline (Mail, Fax or Telephone)" option and complete the checkout process. You will then receive the order confirmation via email. Print out the confirmation and mail it, along with your check, to: KidsWorks - 3295 Jamie Way, Hayward, CA 94541.  NOTE: Offline orders will be shipped upon receipt of your check.

• WHAT IF MY CREDIT CARD IS VALID, BUT DOES NOT GO THROUGH?
There are a number of reasons a credit card will not go through. Credit card companies are getting more stringent with security measures, so even a simple misspelling of a portion of your contact info, or using a different contact phone number or email address will cause a declined charge. Many churches have a corporate card with multiple users, and sometimes a sale will go through on one church employee's computer, but be declined on a different computer. The credit card company can track the IP address of the computer where the charges are attempted, and may decline the transaction from an unfamiliar computer. Check to make sure all the spellings of your contact info are correct, exactly as they are filed with your credit card company, and use the computer from which most card transactions are initiated. If all else fails, try a different credit card, or complete your transaction via PayPal or check.

• I AM LOOKING FOR MUSICALS BY LINDA REBUCK. DO YOU SELL THEM OR KNOW ANYONE WHO DOES?
Linda Rebuck, the mother of Sharon Turney, was a wonderful and successful writer of children's Christian music in the 80's. We get requests for her work frequently, and although some of Linda's material is probably still out there somewhere, KidsWorks does not own the rights to any of it. There are still some internet companies which carry out-of-print pieces, but technically it is illegal to sell them, as the original publisher owns the copyrights. Sadly, the publishing companies can stop printing pieces and then not allow anyone else to sell them or duplicate them. We wish we could be of more help in this matter.

• WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A "CHORAL BOOK" FROM OTHER PUBLISHERS AND A "CHORAL BOOK (FOR KIDS)" FROM KIDSWORKS?
A description and picture is shown for each item if you click on it's title. The main difference in the "Choral Book (for kids)" is that it only has the melody line and the lyrics for each song; it does not include the Piano Accompaniment as with Choral Books from other publishers. The "Choral Book (for kids)" also includes puzzle pages with crosswords and mazes and well as individual Lyric Sheets for each song.

• I HAVE A LARGE CHOIR AND I AM LOOKING FOR A WAY TO ADD MORE PARTS FOR THE KIDS TO PLAY. ANY SUGGESTIONS?
There's always room for more! You may wish to split larger speaking roles up among several children, ie: Child 1, 2, & 3 in "Ultimate Superstar" could be split up to include 6 kids instead of 3. In the case of our "show within a show" musicals ("Ultimate Superstar", "Charlie & the Cherub Cheerleaders", and "Life Is Good") you can add a crew of makeup artists, camera people, prop carriers, etc. And don't forget, every song can feature additional small groups doing special movement and/or dance.

Copyrights & Licensing Info

• CAN I COPY THE WORDS ONLY?
KidsWorks scripts, lyrics, music and musicals are copyrighted material.

Paper Copies: Unlimited copies are allowed if you have purchased the Piano/Director Book PDF and the Choral Book PDF for your production. Limited copying of Lyric Sheets is allowed if you have purchased hard copies of the Piano/Director Book and the Choral Book for your choir.  You may only make as many copies of Lyric Sheets for your children as you have purchased books/music, and for convenience purposes only. (Lyric Sheets are included at the end of each Choral Book.)  For example, you may want to make copies of the Lyric Sheets for the kids to take home, rather than allowing them to take the books home. You may not make copies beyond the number of books you have purchased.

Copying for Projection: You may make projection images of the lyrics or create slides for projection software (ie: PowerPoint or ProPresenter) only if you have purchased the PDF's which allow unlimited copies of the books and lyrics for your production.

• IS IT LEGAL TO MAKE VIDEOS OF OUR PRODUCTION?
If you wish to record video of your production and distribute multiple copies, whether for profit, at cost, or for free, you must contact KidsWorks for synchronization licensing information.  Copyright laws prohibit copying songs on video without permission. To request licensing information, click here.

• MAY I REPRODUCE THE ARTWORK OR LOGOS?
Artwork pertaining to each musical is available on our website (visit the page of the musical you are working on, click on "Clip Art").  This clip art is free for you to use for promotional posters, programs, bulletins, choir t-shirts, etc., but no item with our clip art may be sold for profit.  Please do not alter the artwork except to include information about your performance venue, ie: name of church, name of choir, dates of performance, etc.

• DO YOU GIVE DISCOUNTS OR COUPON CODES FOR ONLINE ORDERS?
Periodically Sharon Turney of KidsWorks publishes a newsletter called "The KidsWorks Kronicle". Each newsletter will contain a coupon code for a specific item on sale which you can use during your online checkout. The coupon code is only valid for a specific time period which is disclosed in the newsletter. If you would like to be on the email list to receive "The KidsWorks Kronicle," click here.

• HOW DO I KNOW IF I SHOULD CHOOSE THE "SPLIT TRACKS" OR "STEREO TRACKS" OPTION ON THE PERFORMANCE TRACKS DESCRIPTION PAGE?
Our Split tracks are produced to match the industry standard which includes the Music in the left channel and the Studio Choir without solos in the right channel. It is assumed/recommended that your sound person will control the actual mix/blend of the pre-recorded studio choir. That is the beauty of split-tracks, so that you have that complete control for your individual needs. The only requirement is that your sound person has complete control over the left and right channel balance at your mixing console. Here's some scenarios that may be useful for split tracks:- you have a small choir so you would like to have support for both the on-stage monitor mix as well as additional support in the house mix. - you have a small choir that just needs some help with entrances and remembering words but you do not need that support in your house mix. Just feed a blend of both the left and right channels to the stage monitors, but only feed the left channel to the main house speakers.- you have a small choir without stage monitors. Your sound person will have full control to boost the pre-recorded choir as much as needed for just the songs that need it.- you have a large choir that does not need any additional support but they forget their entrances on a few songs. Your sound person can bring up the pre-recorded choir in the on-stage monitors for just the entrances then bring it down.- you have any size choir but have trouble keeping in pitch. Your sound person can feed a very light blend of the pre-recorded choir to the on-stage monitor mix as well as the main house speakers, just enough to allow everyone to hear the proper intonation but let your kids shine above.
